Another champion arrives at the XC Città di Albenga A further big international joins the long list of presences for the XC Città di Albenga, the second round of the Italia Bike Cup Chaoyang which will be staged this weekend. It’s Victor Koretzky, the Frenchman who, after a couple of years of combining mountain biking and road activities, first at B&B Hotels and then at Bora Hansgrohe, has returned this year to focus on fat wheels in the ranks of Specialized. Koretzky, silver last year at the World Championships in the Short Track event, will be one of the many champions who will try to enter their name in the roll of honour of the event which is now the Spring Classic, challenging the outgoing champion, the Belgian Pierre de Froidmont, the former Swiss European champion Lars Forster, the Swiss XCC Champion Thomas Litscher, the French champion Titouan Carod, not to mention the long plethora of local specialists starting from the Santa CRUZ to the Wilier athletes. Prestigious participation also among the women where the Italian champion Martina Berta defends the title won last year against in particular Chiara Teocchi, the two-time French junior world champion Line Burquier, the Swiss Ginia Caluori and many others. The races will begin on Saturday 9 March at 9.15am, giving space to the amateur categories. The women’s event is scheduled at 1pm, the Open at 3pm. Sunday will be the turn of the youth categories, starting at 9:30. Registrations still open at a cost of 25 euros for the absolute and amateur categories, 10 for the youth ones. Numbers can be collected as early as Friday at the Campochiesa race field, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, while the route will be available all day for participants to test. The license check can also be carried out on Saturday from 8.30am up to one hour before each departure for Open and Junior.
On the website of the organizing company, it is also possible to find a series of logistical solutions at discounted prices. In addition to the race, there was a big party on Saturday with Mtbeer in the Arrival area and in the center of Albenga at the Outdoor Festival with extreme sports and material tests.
