The UCI MTB World Series organisers have announced changes to the WHOOP UCI MTB World Cup in 2025.
Teams
For XC, a maximum of 20 teams will be invited to every World Cup. 15 of these will be based on this year’s team ranking, and 5 will be wild card entries.
A new multi-round Continental Series will allow riders to qualify to race World Cups. Details on the Continental series will be realised by the UCI soon.
Career Numbers
Rides that have won a World Cup will be able to choose their own number, which they will keep for every round. However, number 1 will be reserved for the World Cup overall leader and will be awarded on the podium at each round.
